i can remember that car from the adelaide GP, i think it was that cars last GP, i always used to confuse it with the ferrari as a kid :)
they should have had a good look at the nose cone btw, its almost about to come lose :P

some kind of older ferrari, not like the new big bastard ones. I watched an F1 race on TV last week, they've improved dramatically in the last few years... so yeh thats cool, i'd rather have some cool leMAN car or something better like that!!!

Not a turbo, note the airbox over the driver's head. Wonder if the driver knows the nose of the car is broken?

It could be a front wing tune, but I doubt that there would be a visible seam.

Nope. Two clues. First if you look at the near front wing end plate you see that it looks ground down. Second, you're correct. That black stripe on the nose is not a stripe, it's the chassis showing.

By the way, it's a BMS-Dallara. Dallara chassis. Commissioned by Giuseppe Lucchini. I *think* it's a 1991 chassis, but not positive.

Couldn't quite tell since I don't think they had the money to do more than just a few detail modifications from the '91 to the '92 chassis. That one took a little digging on my part...

Same here, I kept thinking its a Ferrari from the Marlborough sticker on the side.
I think the 91's side-pods are not very curvy like the 92's and above, but im no expert on the oldskool f1.
This one seems to had abit of work done on it, the front aerofoil is bent down alot and its been cut.

turbo on that thing?
BMW had a F1 1500cc turbo-engine that produced ca.1300hk
fun fact....almost 1hk pr. 1cc

As far as I can tell...he's right. I don't know for sure either, but after seeing 91 and 93 models, this looks like it fits in between.

I think I might have seen this Ferrari around. there was a vintage car race meet around where I live and a F1 Ferrari was one of the featured cars. I remember trying to take photos of it with an old digital camera and filing miserably because it was too slow...Or was the car too fast...

Unfortunately, it isn't a '92, or any year near it.

I googled every year from 1983 to 1995 and found it didn't fit any of the years, the sloped nose was used in like 1985 and 1995, but the double tail wing was used in 1990 (wasn't white though). Every year after 1995 the nose was pointed straight ahead, not down, and every year before 1983 was a completely different chassis.

Odd huh? :|

Ok, there goes my theory...

Very confusing indeed.
